INTRODUCTION – OUR COMMITMENT TO YOUR PRIVACY
What is the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)?
The GDPR is the European Union’s new, comprehensive privacy and data protection law that will take effect on May 25, 2018. The primary aim of the GDPR is to regulate how the personal data of EU residents is processed – even by businesses that have no physical or legal presence in the EU.
TYPES OF DATA WE COLLECT
Personal Data :
Personal Data means data about a living individual who can be identified from those data (or from those and other information either in our possession or likely to come into our possession).
Usage Data :
Usage Data is data collected automatically either generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit).
Cookies are small pieces of data stored on your device (computer or mobile device).
While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you (“Personal Data”). Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:
· Email address
· First name and last name
· Phone number
· Address, State, Province, ZIP/Postal code, City
· Cookies and Usage Data
We may use your Personal Data to contact you with newsletters, marketing or promotional materials and other information that may be of interest to you. You may opt out of receiving any, or all, of these communications from us by following the unsubscribe link or instructions provided in any email we send.
We may also collect information on how the Service is accessed and used (“Usage Data”). This Usage Data may include anonymous information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.
If you download the free resources from our website, we ask your permission to add your name to our mailing list, which we use to send a monthly newsletter that gives you details of upcoming issues, PMCG-related events and news. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the list at the bottom of every email.
Similarly, if you subscribe to our newsletter, we will add your name and email address to PMCG’s newsletter mailing list, which is managed via Active Campaign.
If you purchase products from us, we also keep a small amount of transactional data in order to process sales.
Embedded content from other websites & social media
Content on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if the visitor has visited the other website.
User information from social networking sites, such as Facebook, Google+, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, LinkedIn, including your name, your social network username, location, gender, birth date, email address, profile picture, and public data for contacts, if you connect your account to such social networks.
If you contact us via email,
your email address and message will be accessible to our small team of staff and may be forwarded to the person or people in the organisation best equipped to respond. We adhere to strict internal privacy policies which comply with the GDPR.
Sharing your personal information
We do not share, rent, sell, or trade your information with third parties for their promotional purposes.
We share your Personal Information only with third parties that help us provide services to you as described above. For example, we use Active Campaign to power our email blasts, newsletters and CRM.
We also use Google Analytics to help us understand how our customers use the Site, and you can read more about how Google uses your Personal Information here: https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/.
You can also opt-out of Google Analytics here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
When you subscribe or place an order through the Site, we will maintain your personal information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information. You can request this at any time easily as described above and we will honour the request in a timely manner.
How to unsubscribe from our newsletter
Every newsletter contains a quick and easy unsubscribe link in its footer, or you can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to request that your name be removed. When you unsubscribe from a newsletter managed via Active Campaign, your details remain on the list of past recipients. This is a measure to prevent circumstances such as a member of staff accidentally manually re-adding you.
However, provided you are still a subscriber at the point when you contact us, on request your details can be permanently removed from the list – please get in touch if you would like this to happen.
Data, cookies, and external services
Our PMCG website automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, browser type, and the issue, article or page(s) you request. This information is collected anonymously and is used to better understand how people use our site and improve its performance. When you visit sites that use these tools, you’re potentially telling companies such as Facebook and Google that you visited, as well as some information about how your web browser is configured. Nothing more than that – we don’t give out personal information like your email address, home address or private mail.
Legal basis for processing
By submitting your personal information to us, you are indicating that you understand how we use your personal information, as described in this policy.
In subscribing to the newsletter or contacting us, you are consenting to the processes as described on this page. The legal basis is GDPR 6(1)(a) – Consent of the data subject.
We may change this policy from time to time to reflect changes in the law and/or our privacy practices. We will update the date whenever we do so.
