Team Dynamics ( Workshop Examples )

Optimal Team Selection
 " The Human Factor"

Background Philosophy and Objectives
Qualifications and experience are important guides to how a person will function in a new job, but most people will work in a team and it is important to know what is the "human fit" - how they will get on with the other people in the team. It is then that other factors become just as important as qualifications. Based on the work of Dr. Meredith Belbin this proposal focuses on helping find the right fit at the human and team level when selecting people to work in Your organisation. By using Interplace, the soft ware system based on Belbin's team role model, staff responsible for selection at Your organisation will be able to : -

  • make better choices of candidate
  • save time and money by avoiding finding out that the candidate is a poor team fit only after they have been appointed
  • have a clearer idea about the candidate's weaknesses and so better know how to develop them
  • understand the candidate's team strengths and hence know how better to use them
  • find more suitable internal candidates for positions
  • know beforehand what will be the effect of the candidate on the profile of a whole team before selecting them
  • develop "ideal" profiles for various Your organisation positions and screen candidates against those profiles
  • develop a data base of Your organisation staff
  • have a clearer idea of what questions to ask potential candidates
